18 October 2025 – We are delighted to share that Gordon Bailey was awarded Life Membership at the October AGM. A truly well-deserved recognition—congratulations!
We are pleased to recognise Gordon Bailey’s outstanding dedication and service to Pukeiti, as well as his significant contributions at both national and international levels in the environmental and community sectors. The key points highlighting Gordon’s commitment and achievements are as follows:
Pukeiti Based:
•22+ years with Pukeiti, 13 as Chairman.
•2+ decades of commitment predominantly from Wanaka.
National and International Based:
•Lead & Management roles in 7 councils & 1 business since 1985.
•Past President, Deputy Chair or board member of another 7 associations, including:
– NZ Rhododendron Association
– Otago Conservation Board
– Waikato Conservation Board
– Recreation Aotearoa
– NZ Horticultural Training Organisation
•Plus:
– Past Asia/Pacific Commissioner for International Parks & Recreation Association
– Three Rotary Clubs: Hamilton/Queenstown/Wanaka
– Two garden clubs (Wanaka & Wakatipu)
